B’Twin Pannier Rack Backpack Review

Red B’Twin Pannier Rack Backpack

What they say: A bag which can be carried as a backpack when you are on foot and attaches to your bike’s pannier rack when you are cycling.

What we say: There’s more to this offering from Decathlon than meets the eye. A lot more. Made from a polyurethane/polyester mix that’s a bit like a canvas, our initial concern about this being weather- resistant were abated when we discovered an integrated high-viz rain cover squirrelled a way in its own compartment at the base of the bag.

It’s just one of many features this bag has going for it. Others include its padded carrying handle, reinforced base, reflective detailing, and mounting points for lights. The fact that it converts from a backpack to a double pannier pack at the opening of a couple of zips is also pretty impressive. The pack itself consists of two main compartments.

The first has a 10-litre capacity and the second a 15-liter capacity for a combined weight of 1,380g. Both compartments have protective padding and various internal pockets of differing sizes capable of accommodating everything from pens and tablets to a 15 in laptop. There is also a zipped stash pocket externally. When worn as a backpack comfort and fit are good, with adjustable, padded shoulder straps.

Conclusion: A backpack that also works as a pannier pack at an unbeatable price.
