Ortlieb Commuter Day Pack Review

Ortlieb Commuter Day Pack

What they say: Plenty of space for your day at the office whether your office is a meadow, a cafe on a factory.

What we say: As you probably know, Ortlieb has bundles of experience when it comes to making bags for cyclists. It helped pioneer the manufacture of waterproof pannier bags and it brings all that experience to bear here, with this commuter day pack.

This no-nonsense bag is made from a tough, lightweight, waterproof nylon fabric that features Ortlieb’s trademark welded seams. Access to the main compartment is via a conventional roll-top that is secured by a simple buckle system.

Offering 21 liters capacity. Inside you’ll find a padded sleeve large enough for a 15 in laptop with an added zipped pocket. Held in place by Velcro, this is easily removable, however, should you wish to whip it out.

An external zipped stash pocket to the side also features, along with three mounting points for lights, dabs of reflective detailing and a grab handle. Comfort and fit are also excellent. Held in place by adjustable shoulder and waist straps, the outside of the bag avoids contact with your back thanks to a series of foam blocks that allows air to circulate over your back. Weighing 750g, it’s available in dark chilli, petrol, steel blue or black.

Conclusion: An excellent pack made all the more attractive by its five-year guarantee.
