Zipp Tangente RT28 – Tubeless Tire Review

Zipp Tangente RT28 – Tubeless Tire

What they say: Delivers the lowest rolling resistance, best dry and best overall cornering grip among major brands, according to an independent lab.

What we say: Designed for performance and race use on tarmac, Zipp’s offering carries a notably high price tag. Another tire constructed in France, RT28 have 127 threads per inch with a Kevlar bead and have been optimized for use with wider rims, employing a specific Zipp construction and rubber compound (60 ShA durometer rubber).

Our demo set weighed 344 g each and measured 26.8 mm across when inflated to 6 bar, they have a maximum rating of 7 bar (100 psi), and also come in a 25 mm wide version, the RT25. Both tires were designed, along with the regular clinchers, for riders who are looking for a combination of low rolling resistance, high durability, and easy fitment.

Conclusion: Hyper up-to-date and cutting edge comes at a cost with the no-compromise Zipp RT28.
