Lezyne Lite Drive 700XL Light Review

Lezyne Lite Drive 700XL Light

What They Say:

High- performance multi-purpose LED cycling light with a compact, durable and heat-dissipating machined aluminium body.

What We Say:

Packing a 700-lumen punch this is a good option if you’re looking for a light that’ll get you seen while allowing you to illuminate the path in front of you. The sense that this is built to cope with off-road duties is, erm, reflected in its robust metal casing.

Even its USB charging point is concealed behind a rubberised door that’s so thick it’s reminiscent of a mini bank vault, allaying any fears about rain or mud getting into the electrics via its deep recess. The rubber mounting strap is also reassuringly sturdy so there’s little chance of this flying off in the dark, while its rotating mount allows you to aim the beam pretty much where you want.

The light is bright enough to leave you with a headache if you look directly into it (please take our word for this!) and can be pumped out in eight different modes, including five constant ones of different intensity and three flashing ones, with a run time ranging from 1.5 to nearly nine hours at full whack; at its lowest setting of 15 lumens, you’ll get 76 hours out of it.

Its built-in memory function will recall the last setting you used meaning no fiddling about with it before each ride unless you want to change it. Weighs 114g and comes in either black, silver, blue red, or purple.

Verdict: 8.5/10

Tough, compact and versatile with a strong beam, this is equally good off-road or on urban commutes.
